Join the Conversation: NPR Hosts Monthlong Series and Events Exploring Blacks in Tech

black-woman-laptop-602-376From Dec. 2 through Dec. 20, NPR’s Tell Me More with Michel Martin is talking with black leaders and entrepreneurs in science and technology through a special Twitter series, using #NPRBlacksinTech. The conversations and coverage features innovative scientists and tech enthusiast—so all you inventors, critics, consumers and creators, this is for you.

The series follows the awesome work of black professionals in their respective fields in an effort to advocate for more tech education and career development in the STEM space.

Michel Martin of NPR’s Tell Me More has lead Google Hangout dialogue to gain clarity on the issues that affect professionals and entrepreneurs of color, specifically in terms of the disparity in black STEM students and professionals.

Martin’s latest Hangout on Dec. 17 had invited guests including Walter Kimbrough, president of Dillard University; Danielle Lee, research scientist and urban Scientist; Mark Luckie, manager of journalism and media at Twitter; Lauryn Hale of Facebook and Christine Johnson, Founder of DiversiTech.
