How to optimise your sleep?

Getting a good night’s sleep can be difficult. Staying up late and coming to work tired makes you less productive, but you also don’t want to oversleep. To improve your sleep habits, check out these tips for optimising your bedroom:

Comfortable pillows

  • Pillows should be comfortable.
  • Use a cooling pillow that is soft enough for your head and neck. It can instantly lower the temperature around your head and neck and help you experience more restful sleep. It should support your head and neck without putting too much pressure on them, but not so much that you can’t sleep comfortably.
  • If you tend to wake up with pain in your neck or back, consider a firmer pillow than what feels comfortable during the night. This will give more support while lying in bed and help prevent waking up with headaches or soreness from sleeping awkwardly on one side of the body all night long instead of across both sides evenly (which is healthier for your spine).

Weighted blanket.

This can be a good option for people who want to improve their sleep. A weighted blanket is similar to a sleeping bag, but it’s filled with pellets, beads or sand instead of down feathers. Some companies sell blankets that weigh between 5 and 15 pounds (2 and 7 kilograms). The extra weight on top of your body helps you relax and fall asleep faster because it feels like you’re being held or hugged by someone, according to the University of Michigan Health System.

Light-blocking curtains.

Light-blocking curtains are a must for every bedroom, even if you live in a place where the sun doesn’t rise until noon. Not only do they help you get the restful sleep you need to stay healthy, but they can also reduce eye strain and prevent sleep disturbances if your partner likes to turn on the lights in their room before getting up. To ensure that light isn’t getting through your curtains, buy one that is black or dark blue and has a thick weave (or two layers of fabric).

Your bedroom should be cool—between 60°F and 70°F—so it’s essential to have shades or blinds that keep out any unwanted heat during summer. If you live somewhere cold year-round, don’t worry about heating bills: keeping yourself warm at night is more important than saving money by turning off the heater!

Aromatherapy diffuser

An aromatherapy diffuser is a must-have for any home. It’s a great way to relax and unwind after a long day, but make sure you’re using it properly. First, keep the diffuser away from small children and pets—even essential oils can be toxic if ingested. Use only distilled water (not tap) and only a few drops of essential oil at once—never more than five! The amount of mist emitted should be adjusted according to the size of your room; do not use it in small spaces like kitchens or bathrooms because they may become humid enough that mould can grow inside them.

Noise-cancelling earbuds.

Earbuds can often be incredibly distracting, especially if the audio quality is poor. But with noise-cancelling earbuds, you’ll get a more immersive and stress-free experience.

  • Use them when you want to sleep, relax, and unwind after a long day at work or school.
  • Please take advantage of their active noise cancellation technology so that nothing gets in your relaxation time.
  • Consider getting wireless headphones if you want to avoid wires tangled around your neck while you’re sleeping or just chilling out on the couch watching TV or listening to music (or both!).

Remember to take care of yourself. A good night’s sleep with a cooling pillow is essential for your health, so make sure that you take it seriously. Don’t let your body be neglected; treat it right by following these tips.
