Resident Evil 2

Few games made waves like Resident Evil 2 when it was first released in 1998 by Capcom for both consoles and PC. However, its unexpected release 21 years later in 2019 set the bar so high that horror games developers treat the game like a benchmark to be compared with. The remaster was nominated for the Game of the Year award in 2019, unsurprisingly so, given the game’s ability actually terrify players.
